Dodo Internet
Not all internet services providers are the same, well, in terms of customer service they're all on par but Dodo (ClubTelco) has a long running history of not giving two shits about people or consumer law. Why did I choose Dodo, well, they were the only option in my locale asides from Telstra "no comment required" and a internet connection is basically a necessity of life.
I don't feel a running commentary is needed for such a clear cut case however I will detail some of the main points below.
- Dodo Internet Services have a long running promotion which offers free products when signing up to extended contracts, the first iterations included mobile phones, tablets and eventually X-Box gaming consoles. (not upheld)
- Upon signing up to their extended contract I requested that my initial service payment be debited on a specific date. (not upheld)
- Several weeks after making payment I was still without internet.
Feel free to read some email threads here and here. (read from the bottom up) demonstrating the general process needed to get this publicly listed company to uphold their end of a contract or see some of the highlights below. A PDF of the final agreement can be viewed here.
